A stingy man is eager to get rich
and is unaware that poverty awaits him.
In the times of financial crisis, it is advisable for all of us to be more careful how we spend money. but there is a thin red line between being thrifty and being stingy. in russell peter's terms "being a jew, and being an indian".
how would u classify being thrifty and being stingy, where is the line drawn, where thriftiness becomes stinginess?
thrifty = spent on things u NEED not what u WANT
like a hp u need it
but a psp is something u want
stingy = see those ke lian de ppl don't help..
that is how i differ thrifty and stingy
well.. depends on the things that you give to is it a need or want though. but then also depends. for example tithing is something that cannot be compromised, rather the important question is when God calls you to give, would you obey n give ba instead of holding on to your money ba.
in our daily lives, it is necessary to buy the things we need but if you want to buy something, compare the prices first n decide if you have enough for that month a not. i guess it's ok to indulge yourself once in a while but making sure u are not off budget though. gd stewardship of our finances too ba.
hmm ok. i'm asking because i'm struggling with this concept.. when is it alright to spend, and when does the spending becomes spendthrift?
and with the article demonizing the rich girl etc..
sometimes it's confusing, especially with difficult times ahead.

spent on what u need..
like if your school is very cold..
get a jacket.. but don't get too expensive or too cheap..
cheap things are meant to be useless.. zip easy spoil all this
also don't get too expensive.. cos after all just to wear...
so get a midrage jacket..
something like that..
jackets just buy 1 enough liao..
get what i mean?
Human is not a rational being. They would buy what they want even for the things that they need. For example choosing a particular brand of bread jelly.
In some products the illusion that people need to buy them is so strong where in fact they are buying them because they want them. For example I never needed handphone when I was in my secondary or primary school.
People make excuses all the time. Mostly reasonable of course because they still need foremost to convince themselves but still they are made up.
