Neighborhood upset about chickens crossing the road

Why did the chicken cross the road? I don’t know, but it’s annoying people in Ohio.WDTN NEWS is reporting that a street in the city of Fairborn has been overrun by approximately 100 chickens.
There are concerns about the chickens destroying property, and the noise they create, but folks seem mostly upset about the harm coming to the feathered neighbors. Resident Arby Presley told WDTN, “Our worry is that they keep getting killed and they’re starving…It’s not the chickens’ fault. I feel very sorry for them because they can’t help the situation.” Presley has taken to feeding as many as she can while they’re still there.
How did the chickens get there? Well…nobody is claiming ownership, but it seems the birds are mostly roosting at the property of the late Ray Brewer, who passed away in November of last year. His son Terry said he and the city of Fairborn are working together on getting the chickens out of there. Unfortunately, since the chickens are hard to catch, it won’t just happen overnight.
