In case you haven't heard, Oxford Dictionary announced on Tuesday that “selfie” is the word of the year, edging out stiff competition from the word “twerk”.
The use of the word, which is defined by the dictionary as “a photograph that one has taken of oneself, typically one taken with a smartphone or webcam and uploaded to a social media website”, has increased by 17,000 per cent over the past 12 months.
