Earthquake survivors Lanlan (left) and Guaiguai (right) had a happy ending in China on Friday 18 October, when they tied the knot at the Home of Rescued Animals in Chengdu, China. Both dogs suffered from injuries to their hind legs after the 2008 earthquake in Sichuan, and met at the centre in Chengdu.
Chilly Pasternak (left) and Baby Hope Diamond (right) were the happy couple at the world's most expensive pet wedding ever, held as a black-tie fundraiser for the Humane Society in New York in July 2012. The extravagant celebrations cost $250,000.

Just like human weddings, dog weddings are a great place for unattached singles to meet potential new partners. The first ever dog wedding in India, in August 2008, had more than 100 particpants turn up to celebrate six pairs of dogs tying the knot.
