  HEY mum, give us a lift! This doting swan took the strain when her babies got a little tired.

  

  First one, then a second cygnet hopped on the mute swan – closely followed by their sibling.

  Wildlife photographer Paul Miguel took the shot at an RSPB reserve in Castleford, Yorks.

  “It is the first time I’ve seen it in my 10-year career,” he said. “I had to run to keep up. The swan was very protective.”

  Even when the mother stopped to preen the trio held tight. They obviously loved swanning around.
