If you're bored of the usual brick-based hotels, why not try something different?
Hotelsuites.nl have transformed a former government aeroplane into a luxurious suite, now sitting on the fringes of Teuge international airport in the Netherlands.
The hotel room could originally accommodate 120 passengers and a four man crew in the cockpit, but now the 125ft by 8.5ft fuselage squeezes in a master bedroom, luxury kitchen diner and a lounge, complete with wide screen TV.
Owner Ben Thijssen said: 'Most people who come are looking for something special, something different from your average hotel room. We opened it in December 2009 and have had all manner of guests come to stay - from plane enthusiasts to people on their honey moon.'
'It has been classed as one of the top 100 unusual hotels in the world.'
A stay in the plane will set two people back €350 - but the owners do warn that your stay is at your own risk, including the proximity of nearby landing jets.
The disused Ilyushin 18 plane was initially used as a government aircraft before being decommissioned and bought by an East-German airline company.
They then chartered the plane out for flights to places such as Cuba, Russia, Vietnam and China but after the German reunification the plane served as a restaurant for 15 years until it was acquired by Hotelsuites.nl in 2007.
They spent two years renovating the fuselage into a plush hotel suite for two - but left the cockpit as a testament to its previous life
Ben added: 'If you stay here you will not forget it in a hurry. Lots of people come and end up spending most of their time in the room because it is so relaxing and comfortable. We were recently awarded the most beautiful hotel room award in The Netherlands.'
