  Those bloody vampires. They really do get everywhere don’t they? It’s not enough that they’re taking over the rest of popular culture, now they need their own bleedin’ restaurant too.

  Oh, who are we kidding? Be there in one flap of a bat’s wing. It’s hard to resist the appeal of a restaurant with such dedication to its theme. And the Japanese do have a knack for horror, as any film fan will tell you.

  The Vampire Cafe is located in Ginza, Tokyo. All the clichés are there: vampy-named dishes, crosses, bats, skulls, coffins, blood-red cocktails, Gothic thrones, Baroque music, candles, candelabras and even red blood cells on the carpet.

  You can hide in darkly lit private booths hung with velvet drapes, and imagine yourself Dracula’s private dinner guest. The waiting staff dresses as monochromatic butlers and maids.

  The only thing missing are a few open coffins to curl up and take a snooze in after your bat wing dessert.
  Despite the theme, this restaurant is not a very touristic place.

  it’s tricky to track down on the 7th floor of a nondescript building.

  Feel like visiting one day, Japan has got so many funny theme entertianment and food outlets restaurants.
