Cosplayers flocked to PAX East in Boston - one of the world's biggest video game conventions, to show off their impressive costumes
Cosplay is the term coined to a bunch of people who show their love for video games/TV shows/popular culture by dressing-up as their favourite characters. It originated in Japan and combines elements of both costume and play. Hence cos-play.
OK, maybe dressing-up is doing these guys (and girls) a disservice. Some cosplayers go above and way beyond the call of duty in order to pay tribute to their ultimate heroes and heroines.
Cosplay comprises of wildly intricate costumes, detailed make-up, crazy hair-dos, not to mention impressive feats of engineering to construct weapons and props.
Take a look at some of the sights we saw on our journey through PAX East at Boston's International Convention Centre and hopefully you'll see how to these people, cosplay is a labour of love
