Women pose as packaged ‘human meat’ in campaign

  A woman covered in fake blood lying on what resembles a packaging tray, just like those found in supermarkets.

  And she was not the only one, with trays of “bloodied” bodies arranged on the grounds at the Cathedral square of Barcelona, Spain, on 20 March.

  A label on the “package” read “human meat”, with its weight (72kg), date of packaging (20/03/2013) and meat type (free range) indicated.

  The shocking display held by an animal rights group was to push its message for people to stop eating meat.

  

  The group, Animal Equality, has been working to raise awareness of animal rights and for people to have a meat-free diet.

  The outdoor event was a demonstration in support of ‘International Meat-out Day’, the group said .

  Animal Equality said in a report by International Buiness Times: "Covered with artificial blood in large trays, six animal right activists were plasticised to protest against animal use for food and called for a vegan lifestyle.”

  Dozens of other activists accompanied the protest by holding placards, it said.

  "This is a symbolic protest to raise awareness of the suffering and death billions of other animals go through because of human consumption."

  

  It said the number of animals killed at abattoirs around the world number around 6 million every 30 minutes.

  A report by the UN Environment Programme in February also recommended cutting meat consumption by half or giving it up entirely, the article by International Business Times cited, raising the recent horsemeat scandal which showed how farming practices were destroying the planet.

  Why must they force others to stop eating meat...

  Such tryannical behaviours...

   

  We are omnivores, not herbivores... if they want to pretend to be herbivores then they can do so themselves, no need to force their idea onto others...
