People line up to play a game enabling them to get free cups of coffee during the fourth Coffee Festival in Vietnam’s central highland’s town of Buon Ma Thuot, in the province of Dak Lak yesterday. Vietnam with its coffee production reaching some 1.6mn tonnes in 2012, became a world’s leading coffee producer and 80% of the country’s coffee production come from the central highland of Tay Nguyen. The festival is held every two years in Buon Ma Thuot, regarded as the country’s capital of coffee.

The 4 th Buon Ma ThuotCoffee Festival ended on March 12 th in Buon Ma Thuot city, Dac Lac province.
The closing cremony, themed ” ighlands ‘s aroma”, was fascinated by performances of 12 artistic troupes in the province and other localities, highlighting coffee production and popularising the brand of Buon Ma Thuot coffee to the world.
Also at the ceremony, the People’s Committee of Dak Lak province honoured 20 coffee products for their quality and 20 farmers and scientists.
The four-day festival, under the theme “Buon Ma Thuot coffee, integration and development”, went through various activities including exhibitions and fairs, street festivals, and seminars.
Held every two years, the Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival sticks to the goal of promoting the Vietnamese coffee industry and its products, especially popularising the brand of Buon Ma Thuot coffee in particular and that of Vietnam to the world.
