Two Kansas brothers celebrating a lottery win with marijuana and meth were almost killed when they accidentally blew up their house.
Sgt Bruce Watts of Wichita Police says one of the brothers went to the kitchen to refuel the butane torches they were using to light their bongs, reports Fox News.
He emptied a couple of cans of butane fluid, leaking gas into the air, which soon reached the pilot light.
"And as you might expect, ka-boom," says Sgt Watts.
The injured brother's girlfriend loaded him – and some kids – into a car, dropped him off at a nearby hospital and left without explanation.
The not-so-lucky US$75,000 winner is in a serious condition with second-degree burns on his arms, chest and hands.
