The incredible flower appears to have the face of a MONKEY in its petals.
The rare plant grows in cloud forests in southeast Ecuador and Peru, on the side of mountains.
It is known as the Monkey Orchid, but its scientific name is Dracula simia.
“Simia” refers to the monkey face, and “Dracula” to the two long spurs which look like vampire fangs.
The orchid was only discovered in 1978 but is part of a family containing over 120 species in Ecuador.
When it flowers it smells like a ripe orange.
