A BRITISH grandmother is set to make her Hollywood acting debut at the age of 79 – playing a deadly martial arts assassin.
Retired midwife Kay D’Arcy will star as the absent-minded but merciless avenger with lethal weapons hidden in her hair bun.She landed the role in Agent 88 after showing her tai chi skills.
Producer Jan Utstein-O’Neill said: “What impressed us is that Kay could go from being frail to being a totally empowered woman.”
Kay, from Somerset, has five children and 11 grandchildren.
She headed to Hollywood 10 years ago to pursue her dream.
The series, which will be shown at first online, is described as a “shoot ’em up kung fu romp”.
Creator Digger T Mesch came up with the idea after watching a YouTube clip of British widow Ann Timson, who tackled sledgehammer-wielding robbers with her handbag last year.
