THIS wee pet lamb bears an uncanny resemblance to Scotland’s most famous animal attraction.
A farmer has created a breed of sheep to celebrate the arrival of the Edinburgh Zoo pandas.
The first lamb was born on April Fool’s Day – but proud Jill Noble insists it is no joke.
And after the failure of Sunshine and Sweetie to mate this week, she could pass on a few tips on successful reproduction.
However, Jill is refusing to reveal the breeds of the parents.
She said: “We are keeping that to ourselves. Let’s just say there is a bit of Icelandic as well as Scottish.
“We are calling it the panda breed. We do sell Icelandic lambs as they look very nice so I imagine there will be interest in this breed.”
Jill, of Carlops, Peeblesshire, breeds horses and cattle and has a 120-strong flock of sheep.
She added: “Everyone is very amused and impressed by the lambs.
“And the sheep certainly showed the pandas a thing or two about producing babies.”
