.....it cuts both way, talent without hard work is a wasted talent. Why not? with talent doesn't mean you'll go far forever if you don't nurture it well. As long as you put in effort consistantly, you're better off than people with talents.
You can have all the talent that you want.
But do you know somebody who knows somebody?
there are super talents and average talents....to be fair....
there are many who love to write...but only a few are rare ingenious writers....what differentiates them from the rest?
the secret lies with the transformation of passion into compulsive obsession...

The somebody you know also must be somebody who don't abused your talent

No matter how well I do, I don't feel that I have a talent for these things. Its all effort, not talent.
I don't know how far hard work can bring me but I will continuing stiving to be the best that I can be.I want to know your opinions, so what do you think?
Can those with no talent outdo those with inborn talent?
wah so hardworking.
Majority of the people here are average la...
Those people who pretend not to study at school actually study at home.
And those who really dont studied at all probably studied when they were younger so they already know the subject matter well even before the school start teaching.
That life is not just all about getting good grades.
Honestly, and as snobbish as it sounds, such people don't impress me much because they are usually deficient in other areas.
Drive is important, but striving to achieve should be a means to an end and not merely the end.
And yes.
I strongly believe hard work cannot trump talent. For the simple reason that flexibilty is not something that can be perfected quickly.
And no. I'm not talented. I just speak with the experience of 20 years in the dog-eat-dog world of the SG education system.
I know of a friend who was damn hardworking.she even studied when she was pooing.yes.
She got 1st class honors.
Up till now,she is an inspiration to me.
Ok.
Each to his own.
Don't mean to be sarcastic but some people have talent in working hard.
I have seen many smart/talented people being distracted or slacking off, simplying thinking that "aiya study a bit can liao". In other words complacency. Where does it bring them?
To tell of a personal story, I was once that smartaleck and my friend was you, the hardworker. 5 years since we were in the same class, he is entering Cambridge. And where am I?
Don't be too hard on yourself. In the end, we all work to pay the mortgage.
It all depends . Me never learn to play musical instrument, no talent in music, BUT I LOVE SINGING. I didn't spend my early life listening to "world music", i listen to kindergarden song. the "word song" was "when you are gone" by avilgre langire(i forget how to spell her name)so i dun have much talent in singing....no musical toys for me......no large scale toys.....my family very poor..no music class. :(
i dun really like my childhood, very boring. no drumset, got one big plush toy. i cannot think of other memorable toys.
even though i was in the drama club, i dun get any acting roles. everyone in my age group except for a girl and me, which really really sucks.
so i dun think i have talent in acting.
my studies not good.
my art not good.
only my history good.

I know how that feels because when I was in school, I yearn to be the best in my subject. When the final exam results release, I found myself top in two subjects, POA and Chem/bio. It's hardwork I would say during that time, now looking back at those times, I would say it's really impressive.
Personally, I see talent as something that can be developed and it's least related to academic.
If you work hard and use your talent well, you may succeed. Period, we see that everywhere.
If you have no much talent and you work hard, you may still succeed.
But what does success means if you only are doing it for yourslef to enjoy. If you dun use your talent to benefit others as well as yourself, what is the point of being talented and successful? You may become very rich and powerful, but does it matters much? There are people who are famous and successful, so what?
Supposing this talented hard working guy dies today and goes to haven, what do you think God will ask him? How much wealth have you make on earth Or what have you done to benefit others with the talents you got?
They are people who are not born talented, but they still made an impart in humanity through their heart and kindness to others. These are the things you can bring with you when you die, all the talents and successes you will leave here on earth.
So if you are really talented, use it wisely, not self centredly and you will find your happiness in life.
only the stupid 1s noe tat they r stupid but seems the stupid done better in life coz they dun take things for granted
