Angry bird targets bicycle riders

  Bicyclists in Pendleton, Oregon, said they are getting whacked on the head by an angry bird because they are too close to a nest he is guarding in an old cottonwood tree.
  
  Bicyclist Mack Temple said the male hawk came in from behind like a fighter plane and whacked his helmet. Another rider said the attack on his helmet was "like getting hit with a baseball bat".
  
  Bird-watchers said the large bird is a Swainson's hawk and will ease up once his brood learns to fly.

  'Bicyclists' (which I didn't even know was a word) in Pendleton obviously don't ride much if they've only recently found that out.
