Masked female "superhero hands out cash to poor in Hong Kong

Hong Kong - A self-styled female 'superhero' dressed in a a mask, boots and a low-cut bodice has been handing out cash and food in Hong Kong's poorest districts, a newspaper report said Sunday.
The woman who calls herself the 'Bauhinia Heroine' after the flower in Hong Kong's flag has given out hundreds of US dollars worth of cash and food in surprise visits to inner-city areas.
Her outfit appears to be modeled on the Black Rose, a heroine from a 1965 film who steals from the rich and gives to the poor, the Sunday Morning Post reported.
She has given noodles, hamburgers and biscuits along with cash gifts of 100 or 200 Hong Kong dollars (12.85 US dollars or 25.70 US dollars) per person in recent weeks, according to the newspaper.
In an emailed interview with the newspaper, the woman refused to reveal her identity but claimed to be a businesswoman earning tens of thousands of US dollars a month.
'I am worried people might think I just want to be famous if they know who I am,' she said. 'I just want to help the poor.'
The appearance of the Bauhinia Heroine comes at a time of increasing concern over the city's yawning rich-poor gulf, reckoned to be one of the world's biggest.
