Stewardesses from ailing Mexican airline Mexicana pose in sexy outfits in a new calendar aiming to raise money to compensate their losses since the company suspended activities in August.
"We're not models, we don't have perfect bodies, but we want to keep going," said Rozy Arcos, one of the stewardesses who presented the calendar late Thursday.
The selected flight attendants pose next to planes on a runway in bikinis and tiny outfits in the 2011 calendar.
"We're seeking to support our coworkers, faced with necessity after being left without work since August," said Coral Perez, promoter of the initiative.
One thousand calendars have been produced, but a second print run of 3,000 is already planned after the move provoked a media frenzy.
Heavily indebted Mexicana, one of the world's oldest airlines, suspended all flights in August and a judge granted it bankruptcy protection shortly afterwards.
The calendar was released after Mexicana suggested that a restructuring proposal might allow it to resume some flights by mid-December.
