Most of us make do with someone resembling Guy Fawkes, but for some the fifth of November isn't complete without the sight of a famous person engulfed in flames.
A bonfire society in Kent is to set light to a giant effigy of footballer Wayne Rooney.
The 49ft creation, complete with green Shrek-style ears to mock the Manchester United player's likeness to the animated ogre, will be torched at Edenbridge Bonfire Society annual parade and display on Saturday.
With crowds of up to 15,000 spectators expected, the steel-framed structure is packed full of fireworks to ensure the footballer goes up with a bang.

Irate football fans have burned an effigy of England striker Wayne Rooney as the furious backlash over his poor form and threats to quit continued.
Supporters, furious at a poor World Cup performance and incendiary comments about the lack of ambition at his current club Manchester United, set fire to the figure at a bonfire night celebration in Edenbridge.
Wearing a Manchester United shirt, clutching his new contract and a bag full of money, the effigy is the latest controversy to hit Rooney after ill-tempered negotiations with his club last week.
