From Funeral To Wedding, The Bionic Bride Comes A Long Way

May 27, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The ‘Bionic Bride’ is the name by which Ally Smith is known right now.
The ‘bride’ bit is the important one ion the phrase, because, she just got to be the bride after a whole lot of trouble, mental and physical. Suffering from a serious condition of the heart that would almost certainly have led to an untimely death, she all but said no to her fiance, Mike Babineaux, when he asked her to marry him. However, well aware of the situation, Mike Babineaux refused to listen to her protestations and reasons, and after a while, Ally Smith was provided with a device called a bionic heart, a machine which would work instead of the faulty heart that Ally Smith was born with.
The couple is all set to marry next month, and the preparations are on in full swing. The most touching part of the story is that Mike Babineaux had asked Ally Smith to marry him even while she was running in and out of the hospitals, being treated, as far as the doctors could treat her, for the rare defect of the heart muscle, called cardiomyopathy. Although initially Ally Smith had given the nod, layer on, her troubles increased, and it was obvious that she did not have very long to live. In desperation, she asked Mike Babineaux to take back his ring.
However, her fiance refused to listen to anything of the sort, and as Ally Smith revealed in an interview, he promised to marry her even if she lay on her deathbed. Mike Babineaux himself agreed, saying that he would not be able to replace Ally Smith with anyone else in his life.
