Electricity tariffs to dip by 0.7% from Oct till end-2016
SINGAPORE: Electricity tariffs will decrease by an average of 0.7 per cent or 0.14 cent per kWh for the period of Oct 1 to Dec 31, compared to the previous quarter, power provider SP Services announced on Friday (Sep 30).
The tariff reduction is due to the lower cost of natural gas for electricity generation, which fell by 2.5 per cent compared to the previous quarter. For households, the electricity tariff will decrease from 19.27 to 19.13 cents per kWh for Oct 1 to Dec 31. The average monthly electricity bill for families living in four-room HDB flats will decrease by S$0.57, SP Services stated.
