SINGAPORE - Furniture giant Ikea is recalling three of its ceiling lamps that have had their glass shades fall off.
The incidents were reported by customers globally, and no reports of injuries have been reported in Singapore.
In a statement on Tuesday, the company urged customers who have bought the Hyby, Lock and Rinna ceiling lamps to bring them back to any Ikea store where they will receive a full refund. Only the Hyby and Lock lamps are sold in Singapore.
"In a few cases medical treatment was required and one customer reportedly
needed stitches," a spokesman said.
"All our products are tested to and comply with applicable testing standards and legislation. In spite of this we have received reports that Lock and Hyby ceiling lamps have fallen," a spokesman added.
The statement said that a receipt proving purchase is not needed for a full refund.
