Shoppers get caught in 'rain' inside Jem after suspected sprinkler malfunction
A suspected fire sprinkler malfunction in Jem earlier today (Jun 17) at around 12.45pm has flooded the first floor of the mall, surprising shoppers with sudden indoor rain.
Stompers on the scene sent in photos and a video of the sprinklers dousing the mall with mist as well as the flood.
According to Stomper Audrey, the sprinklers have since been shut off and staff are trying to clear the flood water.
In the video sent in by Stomper James, water can be seen falling like rain through the empty space down to the first floor.
This is not the first time that Jem has encountered problems.
Last year, the mall experienced two fires in August and a ceiling collapse in September.

but I think people will still go to JEM despite the incidents, because JEM has things (eg. UNIQLO) that can otherwise only be found in other parts of Singapore.
