Hundreds of dead fish have been found floating in the river at Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park, causing a lingering stench in the area.
When The Straits Times visited the park on Wednesday morning, at least 300 white-coloured fish about a foot long each were seen floating on a 200m stretch of the river close to Bishan Road. Many were decomposing under the hot sun.
Cleaners were seen wading through the river gathering the fish.
Residents said that they spotted the dead fish at about noon on Tuesday. Many long-time residents said this was the first time they had ever witnessed mass fish deaths in Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park.
First time in Singapore. Btw this will make headlines in international news
Someone poisoned the river...???
Someone should launch an investigation... Fishes dun die in masses for no reason...

SINGAPORE — Lower levels of dissolved oxygen caused by hot and dry weather could have led to the death of about 400 fish at Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park today (Feb 5), the PUB said in a statement.
The PUB said it received a report of several dead fish at the upstream section of Kallang River at the Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park this morning. Contractors were activated to clear up the dead fishes and the clean-up was completed at 3pm. The two species of fish affected are Tilapia and Mayan Cichlid.
Water samples were also collected and laboratory test results show that water quality was not affected and there was no contamination.
The PUB also said it is safe for the public to continue with water activities at the premise and the agency will continue to monitor the situation closely.
oh 月亮惹的祸
lower level oxygen level... -_____-
firstly, there are plants in the water that regulates oxygen and CO2... IF indeed the oxygen level gets too low in an area due to overcrowding, the fishes will swim to another area with higher oxygen level...
it's a river, not a resoivour...
oh...wait! pinky's fault?
haze lah, not enuf oxygen.
ikan tak boleh tahan...
so all flipped
no lah the fishes commited suicide... before was bedok reservoir then kallang river now bishan lokang
