The Indonesian maid who was arrested on Thursday after the 16-year-old daughter of her employer was found dead with stab wounds in their Tampines flat, has been charged for murder.
The charge was read to her before a field magistrate on Friday afternoon at the Institute of Mental Health, where she had been sent for psychiatric evaluation.
The 28-year-old will be moved to Changi Women's Prison later in the day.
Meanwhile, the school where the victim is from, told The Straits Times that it is providing support to the student's family. "We will also provide counselling support to staff and students affected by this incident," said the school's principal.
