These support staff are health attendants, healthcare assistants and patient service associate. They are not nurses and are at lower rung levels. Mostly Singaporeans.
I believe it's good news for them. I think every worker deserves to move up the ladder as long as they are willing to learn new skills and be productive at work and not be deprived and be stuck at the low levels because they are not as qualified.

2,500 healthcare support staff enjoyed pay increments in the past year
By Lim Yi Han
Lower-wage healthcare workers have seen their salaries increase by 10 per cent in the past year under NTUC's progressive wage model, it was announced on Monday.
Some 2,500 support staff at public hospitals and polyclinics under Alexandra Health, Eastern Health Alliance, Jurong Health Services, National Healthcare Group, National University Hospital and SingHealth Services, who were earning less than $2,000 a month, benefitted under the model.
This was announced by MP Patrick Tay, who leads the NTUC Healthcare Cluster, at the National Day Observance Ceremony held at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital.
Launched in June last year, the progressive wage model sets out a career ladder with pay standards for low-wage workers in various sectors including education and healthcare. It is targeted at increasing wages through improving workers' productivity, work processes, and skills.
