Umno not involved in alleged Anwar sex videos
KUALA LUMPUR: UMNO information chief Datuk Ahmad Maslan has denied that the party or Barisan Nasional are involved in two yet-to-be released sex videos involving Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) top guns.
Ahmad said neither Umno or BN was in the business of making pornographic videos.
"We have better things to do, like governing the country, than fixing cameras in hotel rooms.
"We also do not campaign based on videos. Instead, we focus on good leaders, good parties and policies," he told the New Straits Times yesterday.
"I don't know who did it or who is behind the videos but they're definitely not our work."
Ahmad said the opposition should stop blaming Umno for everything that anonymous bloggers did or posted online.
"The bloggers have their own work and they have nothing to do with us."
He said the people could think and decide whether the videos had been tampered with.
"These people in PKR seem to know more about the videos than us."
PKR secretary-general Datuk Saifuddin Nasution (pictured in main pic, above) has alleged that Umno-BN had come up with two yet-to-be released sex videos: one of its de facto leader, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, and the other, Anwar's daughter and party vice-president, Nurul Izzah Anwar.
He said he had been given a preview of the two videos and several unclear pictures in a car here a few days ago.
Saifuddin said they were political threats aimed at damaging PKR leaders.
"This is a game of perception. That is why we want to tell the people first of these digitally-manipulated images and videos," said Saifuddin.
He said this at a press conference at the party's headquarters yesterday.
He said he was also told that Umno-BN was trying to create a sex video of Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim.
"The agents did not state when and how the videos will be released.
"They just wanted us to know that they were in possession of these material."
He said PKR leaders were not afraid and would counter such allegations, should the videos be released.

Same old dirty tactics again. Every time elections is near in Malaysia, someone will release videos of politicians having sex in hotel rooms. Could be the dirty work of the same gang.
On January 1, 2008, Chua admitted that he was the person featured in a sensational sex DVD that was widely being circulated in Johor. The two DVDswere distributed anonymously in Muar and other towns in Johor show Dr Chua having sex with a young woman, described by him as a "personal friend." The DVDs are believed to be wireless hidden camera recordings in a hotel suite.[
In the March 2008 general elections, MCA won only 19 parliamentary seats out of 40 they contested. Some grassroots leaders and former top leaders including Dr Chua, demanded the President, Ong Ka Ting, step down to take responsibility.
