Govt should be open to all ideas: Ng Eng Hen

SINGAPORE: Defence Minister Ng Eng Hen said that the government should be open to all ideas, including those proposed by other political parties.
This was in response to the opposition Workers' Party's (WP) Population Policy Paper released on Saturday.
Dr Ng, who was at a community event, said there are three great challenges facing Singapore.
These include maintaining a strong Singaporean core, encouraging Singaporeans to get married and have more children and infrastructure planning.
Dr Ng said he welcomed more ideas from various groups such as political parties, civic groups or ordinary Singaporeans as these will benefit the people here.
He cautioned that these ideas should be 'workable'.
Dr Ng said: "If you slow down foreign workers, SMEs go bust and Singaporeans lose their jobs, they are not trivial problems. They are real problems. So how do you solve, things like that. I'm afraid there won't be any magic bullet. It is not so easy, these are real challenges."

WHEN 10 OUT OF THE 100 PER COMPANY THEIR PERMIT EXPIRES, OF COURSE THEY CAN APPLY TO MOM TO GET 10 NEW ONES IN LAH! BUT THE 10 PERMIT EXPIRE ONE IF THE SMES COMPANY DONT WANNA KEEP THEM ANYMORE THEY GO OUT!
SO WHAT IS THE PROBLEM WITH GAHMEN TIGHTENING FOREIGN CHEAP LABORS! THOSE STATEMENTS ARE THEY GAHEMN THEMSELVES COOK UP TO SCARE PUBLIC 1. OF COURSE IF THE SMES ARE WORRIED THAT IF THEY ASK FOR 10 MORE REDUNDANT LABOR THEY DONT GET IT THAT IS THEIR PROBLEM.
THE REASON WHY LOTS OF PEOPLE DONT JON LOCAL BOSSES SMES ARE BECASUE THEY ARE NOT READY TO GIVE BACK TO SOCIETY AFTER REAP THE PROFITS FROM LOW LABOR WAGES GETTIG FOREIGN LABOR. THAT'S ALL.
SO IF YOU ARE EXPENDING SMES BUSINESS AND NEED WORKERS, WORK WITH MOM. OTEHRWIS EI THINK MOM SHOULD EXFORE A STRUICTLER RULE TO ONLY HIRE SAY 3 LOCAL WORKER THEN YOU CAN HIRE 1 FOREIGN WORKER. PART TIME LOCAL ALSO CAN.

FOR THOSE VERY SMALL BUSINESS ONE ONLY HAVE ONE OR TWO WORKER TO RUN YOUR STALL WHAT IS THE DIFFERNT IN A FEW HUNDRED DOLLARS DIFIERNCE IN WAGES WHEN YOU GIRE A LOCAL AGAINST A FOREIGNER? LIKE FOREIGNER ALSO VERY CHEAP MEH? YOU ALSO HAVE TO PAY THE BALANCE SALARY SHARE AS TAXES TO GAHMEN.
