SINGAPORE: This year's President's Star Charity aims to raise more than S$6.5 million. The show, which was shown live on Channel 5 - was also the first under the auspices of President Tony Tan Keng Yam, who took office last year.
One of the biggest acts this year is Grammy Award winning artist Richard Marx, who serenaded the audience with his hits "Right Here Waiting" and "Hazard".
Others included Hossan Leong, Gurmit Singh, Daren Tan and Sheikh Haikel, reprising their medley. The four had also performed in last year's show.
The theme for this year's President's Star Charity, now into its 19th edition, is "unsung heroes". Stories of brave, selfless Singaporeans who overcame adversity and obstacles to find simple joys, is a highlight of the show.
55 beneficiaries, almost double the number last year, are recognised this year.
A repeat telecast of Sunday's show will be on October 21 on Channel 5, from 4pm to 6.30pm.
The public can donate in amounts of S$5 (1900-122-8821), S$20 (1900-112-8822), and S$100 (1900-112-8823). Contributions can also be made online atwww.sggives.org/psc2012.

where to see how the accounts and books and cash flow to?
Are there many still donating to that show?
Yes, the show must go on.
Maybe the last guy should chip in the donation since he dun really need so much money.
Not sure whether who benefited from the show after so many years and whether the funds are used wisely.
