SINGAPORE: Electricity tariff for Singapore households will go down by 2.9 per cent from 1 October 2012.
The rate will drop from 28.08 cents per kilowatt hour (kWh) to 27.27 cents per kWh.
For families living in four-room HDB flats, their average monthly electricity bill will decrease by S$3.24.
SP Services said the latest tariff cut followed a 2.5 per cent decline in tariff for the 1 July to 30 September quarter.
It added that the tariff reduction was due to lower power generation costs, arising mainly from lower natural gas prices.
