Otherwise how to fit 2+3+1 into a taxi.
procreation is not the only issue, but imbalance of gender interests overemphasizing on feministic rights after procreation is the real stupid problem that the system fails to improve...
thus, more enormous problems arise from an imbalance gender policies leading to much more social responsibilities and liabilities extremely skewed upon the male side while leaving females the much lightened burden and freedom to exploit freely the benefits thrown to them...to the extent for the males to ask:"Why marry?...For whom the marriage is for?"
that is the real big problem
the national policy to review in the upcoming white paper proposal on low marriage and infertility had better make this segment of imbalance gender interests a study than to avoid it....
u will never resolve the problems by avoiding it...its there....seriously there...
there was no or minimal reportage on the motives of foreigns marrying our men so as to exploit and enjoy full feministic benefits and rights under our unique women charter...
what has our govt done justice for our singapore men already been biased in favour of the local female population?
Has the govt serioulsy tread on this issue or were they deliberately ignored to put sole focus on alleviating fertilitty rates?
you cannot solve a social psychological issue with econometrics...
nah nah nah - i only remmebr - we stop at 2
big mistake - final mistake - nomore mistake - the end hahahah

@Bike: You are right
Now we do not just follow what govt want
we want to know how favourable it will be for us to have more babies
i talked to parents also
milk powder and even simple baby pram (at few hundred dollars for 2nd hand) are so ridiculously expensive
Originally posted by Bikeforceful:Having babies is one thing but then again almost one in two marriages could end up in divorce. Have we thought thro the social supporting infrastructure and help for such dysfunctional families, when it happens? And it will happen.
To start with it all boils down to how congruent are the aspirations of the government with that of the people? The government wants more numbers. But whatever the justifications, the individual still will look at his own circumstances and his own pockets and bank account, can he afford it he’ll ask himself , is it worth it?
Absolutely what i am thinking

Does it help to turn a blind eye to what he has done before to get the people to stop at two and push all blame to Singaporeans. Anything they are not happy it is always the fault of the people. Why are we still paying them millions, billions to do their job?

Recently, it hit me. I must take personal responsibility for the rising tide of xenophobia in Singapore. My life choices have led to the massive influx of foreigners here, which has in turn, resulted in growing anger from locals fearful that they are being squeezed out of their own country. I need to wo-man up and take the blame. Selfish, self-absorbed me. How on earth could I have not realised this? I am nearly 40. And yet I’ve not bothered to get married, let alone reproduce. I’m not doing anything to help boost Singapore’s birthrate. What a waste of an educated, Chinese womb. Women like me have given my government no choice but to resort to desperate measures to salvage what is clearly a dire situation.
“If we go on like this,” warned former Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew, “this place will fold up, because there’ll be no original citizens left to form the majority, and we cannot have new citizens, new PRs to settle our social ethos, our social spirit, our social norms.”
Oh, the pressure. Oh, the shame. What’s a girl to do? I’ve always believed my ovaries belonged to me and only me. Never thought they’d ever be expected to perform any sort of national service. Never ever imagined that decisions on procreation would ever be anything other than private. After all, LKY himself has an unmarried daughter. Surely he would understand that some of us don’t want to have it all?
