SINGAPORE: Business at several stores in Plaza Singapura were hit by flooding on Saturday afternoon.
CapitaMalls Asia, which owns Plaza Singapura, said unusually heavy rain caused water to leak from a section of the building's carpark.
A hotline caller
said her beauty parlour was affected at about 1.30pm, and that the
incident would cost her about S$2,000 in repair work and loss of
revenue.
Others that were affected included supermarket giant Carrefour.
Cindy
Ee, a shopowner at Plaza Singapura, said: "We had to stop whatever we
were doing. Our customers were also very displeased. They were preparing
to leave. Those who were supposed to come later, they had a fall while
while coming into the mall."

Failure in building maintenance.
Water, regardless of source, should flow to the sump, and from there gets pumped out. When the flow channels gets choked, water backs up...
No amount of engineering can fixed the problem.
Can we have another minister in charge of ponding ?
bad maintenance of the building?
