SINGAPORE - City Gas Pte Ltd announced today that the gas tariff for
households will be reduced by 2.8 per cent, from 22.16 cents per
kilowatt hour (kWh) to 21.54 cents per kWh with effect from Aug 1 this
year. The reduction in the average town gas bill for households will
range from 30 cents a month for 1-room HDB flats to 52 cents a month for
5-room HDB flats.
Gas tariffs are reviewed quarterly and
adjusted in line with changes in the cost of fuel for gas production.
The tariff reduction for the coming quarter is due to lower fuel prices.
The average fuel price over the last three months has fallen by 8.1 per
cent.
