SINGAPORE: A survey on what makes Singaporeans happy and unhappy has shown that men are happier than women at the workplace and baby boomers are the country's happiest people.
The study by Grey Singapore, an integrated marketing communications agency, was conducted by following the Twitter conversations, or tweets, of 1,000 Singaporeans.
The study revealed
that the overall happiness levels amongst Singaporeans fell by 8.3 per
cent to 44.5 per cent compared to last year's survey figure of 52.8 per
cent, while the number of unhappy Singaporeans went up to 25.3 per cent
from 20.1 per cent.
The survey showed that the top three things that drew unhappy tweets from Singaporeans centred on health, work and products.
Negative tweets were found to be skewed towards females and people in the 17 to 35 age category.
Work was the second trending topic that caused much unhappiness amongst Singaporeans.
The survey found that the percentage of women unhappy over work situations was higher compared to men.
25 per cent of unhappy tweets were from women, compared to only eight per cent for men.
The
survey also said baby boomers achieved the highest net happiness score
of 24.3 per cent in comparison with 17.9 per cent for the 26 to 35 year
old category and 14.6 per cent for the 17 to 25 year old segment.

Damn stressed.
Singapore men are shallow so they are more happy.
Singapore women too caught up with winning every argument, fighting for empty MRT seat and chasing the pants of Ang Mohs.
So, they are forever unhappy.
