Man jailed for outraging modesty of 7-year-old girl

SINGAPORE: A 48-year-old coffee shop assistant was jailed 11 months on Thursday for outraging the modesty of a 7-year-old girl.
The man approached the girl who was clad only in her underwear as she was playing with her bicycle along the corridor in October last year.
He grabbed and kissed her wrist, before pulling on her underwear.
The girl then informed her grandmother about the incident, and the man was later arrested at a nearby coffee shop.
Court documents revealed that the man had committed a similar offence in 2008, for which he was jailed 10 months.
For the current offence, he could have been jailed up to five years, fined and caned.
