SINGAPORE: Residents of four HDB blocks in Little India want more to be done to prevent foreign workers from loitering at the void decks.
Despite the railings at these four blocks in Klang Lane, foreign workers continue to gather at the void decks during weekends as they catch up with friends over a meal.
There have been complaints of noise as well as littering.
Residents
now want authorities to limit access of the void decks to residents
only by erecting barriers and putting in place a smart card system.
"The (green) barriers should be locked, and all residents will be given an access card each," said one resident.
Another
resident said: "You block all means so that they got no chance to come
in. If there's a nominal fee to be paid, I think all the residents are
very happy to pay."
