SINGAPORE: A 30-year-old man was jailed one month on Friday for filming his then 13-year-old stepdaughter changing her clothes.
He pleaded guilty to one count of insulting the modesty of the girl by intruding upon her privacy.
The offence took place in May 2010 at their residential unit at Bukit Batok.
On that afternoon, the girl was changing her clothes in her room when the man took a video of her with his hand phone.
The
court heard that when the girl spotted him outside her room with the
hand phone, he tried to distract her by talking to her.
She later called the police after she sensed something was amiss.
His defence lawyer said that the man was remorseful and acted "on the spur of the moment".
The
court also heard that the man, who has a previous string of offences
including possession of offensive weapons and drugs, is no longer
married to the girl's mother.
