Allied educator charged in court with indecent act

SINGAPORE: An allied educator has been charged in court on Wednesday for allegedly asking a student to perform an indecent act.
The 48-year-old man allegedly asked a 13-year-old female student to touch his private parts on December 10, 2010.
The educator and student were said to be from the same secondary school at the time of the offence.
An allied educator works with primary and secondary school teachers to enhance the teaching and learning of students in academic and non-academic areas.
The accused is expected to plead guilty on April 10.
If convicted, he could be sentenced up to five years' jail, fined up to S$10,000 or both.
