Do you know what your maid is really up to on her days off? Domestic
helper Rezzilyn Lodia Vinegas had kept her relationship with a foreign
worker a secret, until the couple was found dead in a hotel room in
Geylang.
The bodies of Vinegas, 33, and her 22-year-old
Bangladeshi national lover Md Sumon Md Lutfar had been discovered by a
receptionist on Sunday night (Mar 4) in a bloodstained hotel room. Both
had been found with slash wounds on their limbs.
Vinegas had been
working with her current employer for 15 months and appeared to have
had no problems with her work. Her facebook page however, was full of
unhappy postings on love and relationships.
Police have
classified the case as unnatural death and investigations are ongoing.
It is not yet clear if the case is a murder-suicide or double suicide.

"This
tragic death proves that just because your domestic helper appears to
be content with her work does not mean she might not have personal
problems you might not be aware of.
"It must have been a
tremendous shock for her employer and friends to discover that she had
had a relationship she had kept under wraps, which only came to light
because of their deaths.
"It goes to show that employers here
often do not know what goes on behind the scenes in the lives of their
domestic helpers. They are people too and have private needs and wants.
Just like us things do not always go according to plan and terrible
things might happen.
"If you have a domestic helper in your home,
you might want to try to get to know her better, so that you do not get
faced with such a horrid shock one day. It would also do many of us
good to treat our maids with more respect."
Now who would want them dead? Hmmmm.
no. 3
imagine wat will happen when they have weekly off-day
Stomp ppl surface this to prevent the weekly off day for maids???
what a mess for the cleaner .....................
either someone murdered them, or the guy murdered the maid but then also badly injured and staggered to the toilet lying face down.
incredible that no one in the vicinity heard their screams or moaning in pain, especially on the same floor.
the hotel got CCTV right. just view the tapes and you have the answers to the mystery murder.
Looks like the work of Freddy Krueger.
