You can even afford Sentosa Cove if you spread the loan to 500 years.

You think I don't know?

How are they going to have kids when there is no space for the kids to stay?
Now you know why the birth rate in singapore is falling
Fren. In Malaysia - the malays can rent a 2 room flat and still fit a family of 6 inside.
You want to know why singapore birth rates are falling? Because nobody wants to go thru the hassle of raising kids in singapore.
$1000 salary can buy car?
$1000 salary can buy car and hdb flat. hahaahhahahah! AFter CPF take home pay $800.

no, fren, malaysia family uneducated, no ideal of birth control.
end up with 6 kids, instead of 1 and they can afford to give that 1kid a very good education. but 6 kids? secondary level only lor. somemore in such small house, how to study? everyday, kid don't have enough money for food.
singaporeans are more well-educated, they want the best, only the best, for their child(btw you need at least a dipolma to survive in sg) enviornment is very important, you see those 1 room flats, a lot of gangsters, a lot of problems.
if i earn that low, i would never have child. its not the hassless, its the reality. A child living in a big house with spacious and conductive enviornment vs a child in a crowded room with 5 other siblings in a small 2 room flat, who is most likely to suceed?
if i cannot give my child a comfortable enviornment to grow up in, i won't have one, because growing up poor is really sh*tty.
..can place deposit with..
..to be a Taxi Uncles..

That's why they need to import 1000 people for the 1 kid that you don't want to give birth to.
Off topic but do you notice that there are even more foreigners now compared to 1 year ago?

I really think you don't know wor.
A $1mil loan spread over 500 years with 1% interest rate will still require $839 each month. This is already underestimating the housing prices and the loan interest rate.
Probably $1k salary a month (take home all without CPF) can afford $839 housing payments, but no need to eat or do anything else liao.

I did not do my calculations when i mentioned my sentosa cove example.
Based on what you calculated, it seems like it would take 100 generations or more to afford sentosa cove since sentosa cove properties cost arou d 20 million each.

Actually I just found it funny that auditor replied you "you think I don't know"
I calculated using a simple iPhone app...
If you are Mark Zuckerberg, you can even afford the GCB on today's newspaper
No need 100 generations liao

I know because I bought one then, $47K swee swee on paper, but pay an extra $5K cash to the seller, just in time before Mr Dhanabalan abolished the posted rates.
Can you enlighten me on term 'posted rate'. What is it actually?

Same as me I also did not do the calculation when I reply you.
Its using common sense that if you spread the loan for a long time you can afford to buy a more expensive house.
Not much people like eagle will bother to go and calculate.
Anyway, 1k salary a month won't even dream about buying sentosa cove. They will probably only dream of buying a 2 room hdb flat
