Teen gets probation for forcing friend to perform oral sex

SINGAPORE: An 18-year-old has been sentenced to 21-months' probation for forcing his female friend to perform oral sex on him.
Both the boy and victim were in Secondary 3 when he committed the offence at a staircase landing of a HDB block in early 2008.
The boy had three accomplices, all of whom have also been accused of the same offence.
The Court heard that the victim, her best friend and the four boys used to hang out after school.
However, when the victim rejected a boy's interest in her, another boy hatched a plan to trick the two girls.
Between February and April 2008, the boys pretended to be possessed by "Chinese gods and ghosts" to frighten the victim into complying with their instructions.
They told her that the "Chinese god of hell" would hurt her and all her friends if she did not perform oral sex on him.
The victim cried after the assault and begged the boys to let her go home as she had "already pleased the 'god' by doing what they asked her to do".
According to court papers, she suffered serious trauma after the incident and had to seek professional help to deal with her depression, anxiety and insomnia.
Defence lawyer Lee Teck Leng said his client was not the "ring leader" and was only "acting on instructions".
He said the boy has a low IQ of 73, which puts his intelligence at the "borderline range", and a psychiatric assessment showed he was "vulnerable to the influence of negative peers".
In pleading for leniency, Mr Lee said people with low IQ may not fully comprehend the illegality and seriousness of what they are doing.
In addition to probation, the boy has to perform 150 hours of community service and his parents have to post a bond of S$5,000 to ensure his good behaviour.
The other boys are scheduled to be sentenced at a later date.

The ang moh alien bastard schools in Singapore are shallow and lacking in values and local culture. I think all of them should be destroyed and the local traditional schools that can produce cultured and intellectual people restored.

This has nothing whatsoever to do with globalisation. This is what happens when a minority group like peranakan rules over majority chinese.

Harry Lee turn to Lee Kuan Yew?
After his education in Britain, Lee Kuan Yew returned to Singapore in 1949 to practise as a lawyer in the law firm Laycock and Ong. He became the honorary legal adviser for several trade unions after being acquainted with their leaders (in 1951) and subsequently caught the public eye in February 1952, when the Postal Workers Union succeeded, with his guidance, in obtaining important concessions from the colonial government.
According to his memoirs and this website, Lee Kuan Yew then proceeded to form the PAP with the help of the communists. Yet these sources conveniently neglect to mention Lee Kuan Yew’s involvement in the Singapore Progressive Party in the 1951 legislative elections. In fact, Lee acted as the election agent for his boss John Laycock, helping him to manage his campaign and canvass on his behalf. (See here and here for proof) He had thus entered into politics even before he became involved in the trade unions’ dispute with the British. (Polling day for the 1951 legislative elections was on 10 April, we can assume that his political activities with the SPP started months before that)
If I may speculate, Lee Kuan Yew joined the SPP initially to build up his political career there. However when the Rendel Constitution expanded the electoral rolls to include all local-born as voters, resulting in a significant increase in Chinese voters, Lee Kuan Yew decided to jump ship and formed the PAP in 1954 because he saw that the SPP lacked the support of the Chinese working class. (So the next time LKY condemns politicians who change political parties, you know where he’s coming from)
Yet the problem isn’t solely that Lee Kuan Yew jumped ship and didn’t care to tell anyone about his great experience in his memoirs.
The bigger problem lies in the fact that Lee Kuan Yew supported the SPP despite the fact that it was
A) pro-British in both its policies and in its composition of members (mostly English-speaking upper class professionals)
B) unsupportive of achieving independence (it merely paid lip-service to the idea by declaring in October 1952, its objective of Singapore achieving independence through a Singapore-Malaya merger without setting a target date)
Lee Kuan Yew ’s miraculous change of heart on these issues when he joined the PAP only demonstrates how the pursuit of power can sometimes make one very flexible about their beliefs. Unfortunately for us, this flexibility of Lee Kuan Yew ’s did not extend to the area of political freedoms.

if really that low IQ, should be in MINDS instead of mainstream secondary school.
Probation is also too light a sentence, given the severity of his offence. Molest case maybe still can understand. Oral sex will given probation sentence? wth!!?
But on other hand, the girl also probably deserve it. Possession by god of hell? She actually believe that bs? Is her IQ lower than 73?
