before we pin the blame fully on the kids, look who is fostering this kind of behaviour?
Actually, I agree with what the mum did. Teachers in school are professional EDUCATOR hire by the MOE. They are in no position to cut the hairs of the students. If the kids broke any rules, the legal guardian should be inform and advise upon instead of taking things into their own hand. They are only teachers and not authorise to touch kids at any point of time. Even when caning is required, the guardians are often inform before the action is carried out.
Teachers are not just barbers.
Nowadays, They think that they are MPs, law-enforcers or judges.
They ordered students to pay fines or do CWOs for offends like talking in class, dirtying in class, etc.
I am supporting the teacher over the student in this case.

haha true
he will be so traumatised he'll turn into a serial killer.
it is exactly such protective attitude that make the new generation so jialat.
no pix to prove how "against the rules" was the original hairstyle.
sch rules have been there till day 1.
so no excuse for sec 2.
if u choose to break it, then u are responsible.
even though the sch might have handled it rather unprofessionally.
but it's the norm in many sec schs.
next time this kid kill someone.
let's see who will be the tramatised one.
There are no facts mentioned on whether this kid has repeatedly disobeyed rules. If he has, then he deserves it, regardless of whether the teacher has the right or not. I support the teacher because many teens these days are just pricks, should never have been born.
Nowadays kids jialat siah...cut a bit of hair will die ar....wah lao....no wonder so many parasites running around fighting la.....they should just cut botak la....then the kid sure remmeber never to have long hair.....education system now like softie...><"
In my time, my discipline master would walk around the exam hall with a big pair of scissors.
If he decides that your hair is too long.... SNIP SNIP SNIP, you'll suddenly find your fringe lying on your exam paper in front of you.
On top of that, my school would call down a barber every now and then without warning. If you were unlucky enough to be caught with long hair on that day, then off you go to see him.
As harsh as such measures are, I cannot argue with the message: Cut your own hair to acceptable standards, or we'll do it for you.
If you don't like what the school is doing to your hair, then for goodness' sake go and get it cut yourself before you get caught.
If it were up to me, I'd also freakin' give the mother a 4-by-2 cut, because she has utterly failed in her duty as a parent. Call the police for fcuk?!?!?!?

okay okay
I don't think that the parents were over-reacting to the whole situation whereby the teacher just snipped the student's hair off just like that.
It's important that the student follow the school rules but ample warning and time should be given to him before the school decides that they should take things into their own hands. Furthermore, this case has room for argument as the teacher himself is not a qualified hairstylist and hence he cannot cut the student's hair without notifying his parents. The teacher, in this case, is abusing his authority and MOE has the responsibility to account for this incident. In fact, this debate boils down to the code of conducts of a school.
If "cutting of students hair by a non-qualified teacher" is allowed, then are students all going to be at the mercy of teachers in future?
I would like to emphasize that school in a place to gain knowledge and to adopt the right set of morals and value. YES, disciplinary actions like corporate punishment to recalcitrants are necessary. But cutting a student's hair on the first/second day or school should not be acknowledged by the society. I don't see why students must be intimidated in schools. How will learning be conducive?! I think that this is a very good calling for MOE to re-define their set of mandatory school rules and to restrict the freedom teachers have towards disciplining a child. And as for this teacher, he ought to be sacked because he could have chosen other alternatives like refusing the child's entry into school etc.
Those people who say this boy will not be able to survive ns extragrates the situation.
It will still be a couple of years before the boy go ns.
Alot of things will change during these few years like perhaps he will migrate overseas and give up citizenship so he don't need serve ns, he got some serious illness so he get exempted from ns etc
Stomper must be gina pi~~~
Maybe acid is the stomper leh
I support what the teachers did cos nowadays the kids act like as if the teachers have to kowtow to them...No law and order in the school.
The mother also another one kind cos she thought calling the police would pressurise the teachers into backing down.Just glad that the policemen did not bother about her complaints.
She is just too ridiculous and thought that she is well connected to give the school pressure.
Tramatised just becos you got your hair cut? Then I suggest her son go and bang the wall.
