Teen helped mum pour hot oil on boy, 10

  A boy was beaten repeatedly, burnt with heated objects, and had his fingers cut for stealing food by the relatives he stayed with.
  
  All five family members were arrested and, on Thursday, the youngest child, 14, pleaded guilty to helping to hold the boy while her mother poured hot cooking oil on him.

  The juvenile court heard that the injuries were so serious it could result in permanent disfigurement.

  Two other charges of abetting her mother to burn the boy's back and neck with a hot ladle and cutting his fingers with a scissors were taken into consideration by District Judge Edgar Foo when calling for a probation report.

  The next hearing will be on Jan 10, 2012.

  The tall, plump teenager will remain in remand in the Singapore Girls' Home.
