SINGAPORE: There is still another week before submissions for the Nominated MP scheme close on the December 8 at 4.30pm.
More names have been emerging as to the possible candidates being put up for the Selection Committee to consider.
Channel NewsAsia understands the Labour Movement is considering three women candidates for NMP.
They
are Nora Kang from DBS Staff Union and Diana Chia from Healthcare
Services Employees Union. Both are currently on its Central Executive
Committee. The third candidate is Mary Liew, who is the Executive
Secretary from the Singapore Maritime Officers Union.
The Tertiary Educational institutions group will be putting up two names.
They
are Assistant Professor Eugene Tan from the Singapore Management
University and Associate Professor Paulin Tay Straughan, who was an NMP
in the last Parliament.
Actress Janice Koh has also put her name
on the list of candidates to be considered after former NMP from the
Arts community, Audrey Wong declined to be nominated for a second term.
Singapore's Parliament can have up to nine Nominated MPs as provided for under the Constitution.

Never underestimate the power of "Sympathy", Nicole Seah has demonstrated such strong ability to sympathize with the as much as half of 39.9%. It is this kind of "connection" with another human being that I'm looking for in a moral leader.
women always have that natural inclination to bond....
