SINGAPORE: A maid has been hauled to court for allegedly stealing more than S$400,000' worth of cash and valuables from her employer.
This is believed to be the largest amount a domestic helper has ever stolen from an employer in Singapore.
Kirandeep Kaur is accused of stealing the cash and valuables from a flat at Block 80 Holland Road on March 28.
The
25-year-old maid allegedly made off items that included cash amounting
to more than S$31,000 and five diamond bangles worth S$124,000.
Kaur was charged with the offence earlier this month and her case has been adjourned to November 2.
If convicted, she could be jailed up to seven years and fined.
