why buy books when there are tonnes available free for loan at the library?
Half a million rental for that place is cheap already.
Mostly I patronize Kinokuniya @ Ngee Ann City.

Borders got online book stores?
Support indie bookstores!
... though I am going to be selfish and have you find out for yourself where they are.
Because they're indie!
I was there on the last day ... bloody carnival it was ....
one of the borders staff lost his cool chasing people out of out-of-bounds corners, but I guess that understandable, he's losing his job anyways ....

No Borders, Go Kinokuniya.
Today's offer is very good, 5 items for $25.
Provided you can find anything worthwhile buying.

Economies of scale?
To HK,
Still have lots of Twilight DVDs.
About library books, better sanitize your hands after reading them.
I remembered Badzmaro's friend masturbating onto library books for thrill.
I once found bed bugs in one library book.

M&S to take over Border's retail space at Wheelock Place
SINGAPORE: Marks & Spencer will take over the Wheelock Place retail space once occupied by Borders bookstore.
The British retailer will move from its current location at basements one and two, and set up a flagship store at level one.
Since Borders moved
out, at least 10 retailers have expressed interest in the prime shop
space. They included new players who do not have a presence in the
Singapore scene just yet.
The 30,000 square foot area will double
Marks & Spencer's current shop size. It will also include a new
homeware section, selling dining ware and fine living items.
The
new store will open in the first half of 2012, while the current
basement area will be returned to owners Wheelock Properties.
Sarah
Lim-Lee Lay Huay, Section Head (Marketing & Retail) with Singapore
Polytechnic, said: "I think B2 can be opened up for an F&B concept
store, whereby there is open sitting. And because there's also a lot of
people walking up and down, it's also a good place to see and be seen."
