AS PART of the ongoing review of the GST regime, the Ministry of Finance will be conducting a public consultation on the draft GST (Amendment) Bill 2011.
The exercise will run from July 8 to July 28.
The draft GST (Amendment) Bill 2011 covers lowering GST compliance costs for the marine, biomedical and logistics sectors, clarifications on existing GST legislation and improvements to the GST administration.
The public can access the consultation documents along with the explanations for the draft GST (Amendment) Bill 2011 on the Ministry of Finance's website (www.mof.gov.sg) and the Reach consultation portal (www.reach.gov.sg).
Comments may be sent to the Ministry of Finance via the website, email, fax or post.

Since the poor needs these basic necessities for everyday living, by making them pay GST for these essential goods, it means they are effectively helping themselves.
We want the poor to be self reliant.
