SINGAPORE : A 13-year-old boy is being investigated by the police for making a false report claiming he was robbed.
He said he was robbed by three unknown suspects on Wednesday afternoon at Block 511 Hougang Avenue 10.
He alleged that the
suspects had restrained him when he was returning home and robbed him of
his handphone after causing injuries to his body using a razor blade.
He claimed that they took his S$170 handphone.
But when police investigated, they found that the student had made up the incident.
Police
said he had loaned his phone to a friend and was afraid of being
punished by his next-of-kin. And he made the false report to cover up.
Investigations are still on-going.
Anyone
who is convicted for giving any information which he knows to be false
to a public servant can be jailed for up to a year and fined S$5,000.
