AN AUSTRALIAN national was charged in court yesterday with molesting a woman last month.
Matthew Paul Freston, 38, a deckland, is said to have grabbed the right buttock of a 23-year-old waitress in South Bridge Road on May 20.
His lawyer, Mr Thangavelu, asked for two weeks to take instructions.
The vessel that Freston was with had been undergoing repairs at the time.
He will be back in court on July 1.
In the same court, a bomoh or Malay medicine man was accused of using an egg to rub the chest of a woman at a flat in Woodlands last December.
Misti Talimin, 51, a freelance religious teacher, allegedly molested the 42-year-old property agent on Dec 16.
His case has been fixed for a pre-trial conference on July 18.
The maximum penalty for molestation is two years' jail plus a fine and caning. However, offenders above 50 will not be caned.
