SINGAPORE: Singapore's food safety watchdog has suspended the import of "Jin Guo Wan" brand fruit juice concentrates, which are used as ingredients for bubble tea.
The Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority (AVA) has instructed the importer to recall and cease the use of these products with immediate effect.
These products, which come in bulk, are manufactured in Taiwan.
They are not available for sale in the retail market.
AVA said consumers need not be unduly concerned as the products have been recalled and ceased to be used.
It
has been testing beverages, jams and jellies manufactured in Taiwan for
DEHP, in view of the DEHP contamination situation in Taiwan.
To date, one other brand, "Sunlight Brand" Star Fruit Two, had also failed the AVA tests for DEHP.
